Telecast 24*7 at CIS Annual Function
The most awaited annual function based on the evolution of Indian Television Industry was organized by Chitkara International School on 22nd and 23rd December, 2011. It was an exuberant show presented by the whole school. After rigorous research and preparations and few rehearsals, it took the students of CIS just five hours to take their audience into the evolution of Indian Television Industry. The function started with Ganesh Vandana. Dr. Ashok Chitkara, President, Chitkara Educational Trust, Dr. Mrs. Madhu Chitkara, Chairperson, Chitkara International School and Ms. Niyati Chitkara, Principal Chitkara International School welcomed the parents and guests. The audience also enjoyed the wonderful rock performance given by Dr. Ashok Chitkara.
The Jhunjhunwala family started the event and introduced various areas of the television industry. For example, news, entertainment, drama, reality shows and so on. The tiny tots took the audience into the fantasy world and a carnival full of cartoons and exhibited their talents inexhaustibly. The students also showcased the comparison of News telecast from the Doordarshan times to the modern era. The students showed the development of Indian TV channels, their popularity in the recent years. The journey from Buniyaad to Sarabhai v/s Sarabhai was shown in the category of Drama. Entertainment category was based on old and the new era, where the tiny tots danced on all time favorite songs Pyaar Hua Ikraar Hua from the old era and Zoobi Doobi from the new era. Further the comparison of popular Chat Shows were also shown covering the first ever chat show Phool Khile Gulshan Gulshan till Rendezvous with Simi Garewal. Various advertisements were enacted by the students. The insight to the reality shows was also presented by the students. The small screen programming which commenced in the early 1980s on Doordarshan now came into existence in several TV channels in various Indian languages, such as Hindi, Bengali, Tamil, Bhojpuri, Gujarati, Punjabi language etc. The students performed a dance on these various languages. Different games and sports were also a part of the television industry. The comparison of Indian Astrology was also presented in front of the audience. Various presentations were shown on The Making of the School and The Making of the Auditorium. The audience was also shown presentations of every category side by side with the basic information of history, popularity, growth, and comparisons of that particular category. The audience really enjoyed the show.
The event ended with the prize distribution to the students who took part in various competitions held during the year. Dr. (Mrs.) Madhu Chitkara, Chairperson Chitkara International School appreciated the efforts of the students and the staff. Overall, the entire theme was revolving around the Indian Television Industry staring from the costumes to the main backdrop which showed various channels. Overall the show was a great success.
